Worldview Generation and Game Generation

We are building artificial intelligence systems to reason about worldview. The goal of this multi-year research project is to develop a general computational model for contemporary American political ideology, allowing game designers to build characters and situations that respond to in-game events in a sophisticated and credible way, based on their own internal, simulated worldview.
As part of this project, we are generating minigames whose dynamics are tuned to represent a particular position on a political issue. Our current interests lie in creating games that help players see the underlying thinking behind intractable political conflicts like abortion and the death penalty.
This term, we are working on the game generation part of the problem, separated from the worldview system. Our goals for this term are to build a working system that can generate playable variations on classic arcade games.
